Luna
I want to update you on
Luna. She's been with me for two years now.
She is a very perceptive and happy girl. A year ago she got a new brother
who is six months older than her. Luna has worked very hard to bring
him out of his shell and has done a wonderful job. This summer she taught
him how to camp, swim in waves, and even convinced him to climb a
75 foot observation tower at Lake Michigan. Everyone who knows
Luna agrees that she's got a special spirit and personality.
Looking into her sweet face, I can't help but feel blessed to have
the chance to be her guardian. Thank you again for all
of your hard work!

Below is Luna's first letter - my, what a long way's she has come!
Hi!
Luna (Josie) came to live with
me last fall. She had been found with
her brother, sister, and Mom, Rosie. Since Luna has been with me, we've
moved to a house with her own yard where she hosts play dates
with her new friends. She's also been busy
attending school,
I am sending a picture of her at class.
Although she had some trouble
in the beginning, she is learning how to
buckle down and
study and becoming a very good student.
Luna also has a new sister,
Miss Opal, a cat who is quite
tolerant of Luna's incessant kisses.
Luna is a very animated girl
and is a wonderful companion
(as well as a guard dog, she always tries
to protect me
from the shovel and vacuum cleaner).
Thank you for all of your hard
work. I don't know what would
have happened to Luna if she wouldn't have
had your
help but I feel lucky to have the opportunity
to make
sure she has the best life I can give her.
